Doctors of Excellence 2024 honoree Dr. C. Emmanuel Little



Dr. C. Emmanuel Little is a multi-talented scholar, creative and family man from Macon, Georgia. He’s a doctoral graduate of the University of Georgia (PhD, Higher Education – Dec. 2018). He also holds degrees from Georgia College (B.A. in Mass Communications ’07, Masters in Public Administration 2010). Emmanuel is extremely passionate about issues affecting historically marginalized communities, particularly Black people; this passion informs his professional work as a scholar-practitioner in the nonprofit and education sectors. He was recognized by ProvenBase in 2023 as a “Top 100 DEI Leader” for his transformational work within the realm of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and justice. Similarly, Emmanuel was also honored by his alma mater’s African-American Alumni Council to receive the Trailblazer Dove award for his 14 years of impactful work in DEI. He currently works at the Assistant Director of Industry Engagement for the AUCC's Data Science Initiative, where he helps lead efforts to expand pipelines for HBCU students to careers in the data science industry. Outside of his day jobs, Emmanuel is a nature nerd and music lover. In his spare time, he also thrives as a voice over professional, while dabbling in music, poetry, and podcasting as hobbies. Emmanuel currently lives in central Georgia with his brilliant daughter, Camryn, and wonderful wife Crystal, who is also an educator.
