Dr. Nobles is the Portfolio Vice President and Dean of the School of Cybersecurity and
Information Technology at the University of Maryland Global Campus. He is a retired U.S.
Navy Commander with 26 years of naval service and has a distinguished career that spans
academia, the banking sector, and military service. As a former Department Chair at the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Vice President in banking, his expertise in cybersecurity and information technology is profound. Dr. Nobles contributes actively to the field through
research, speaking engagements, and participation in professional associations. He completed Fellowships at the Harvard University Belfer Center and the New America Think Tank. In January 2025, Dr. Nobles will assume the duties of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Cyber Technical Group Chair. His unique experiences also include being a commercial-rated pilot and an author. Dr. Nobles’ extensive academic credentials, with multiple doctoral and graduate degrees in relevant fields, underscore his commitment to advancing cybersecurity knowledge and practice and elevating through education.
