Doctors of Excellence 2024 honoree Dr. Nick Williams



Dr. Nick Williams is a multifaceted man who wears multiple hats including educator, speaker, author, entrepreneur, and mentor. Originally a military kid from Washington, DC, Dr. Williams graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 2014 with his Bachelor's degree in English and Foreign Affairs. Dr. Williams stayed at UVA and completed his Master's degree in Student Affairs in 2015. Today, he is the current Assistant Director of Student Engagement at Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) School of Business. Having just completed his doctorate through VCU’s Education Leadership Ed.D program as of May 2024, Dr. Williams also serves as an adjunct professor teaching a freshman course called “Principles of Professional Development: Men of Color”. Outside of his work at VCU, Dr. Williams is also an entrepreneur running four different businesses to include: Culinaire Creations, Black Kings Connect Podcast, Williams Xperience Marketing & Designs Consulting, and Legacy Leaf Publishing. Dr. Williams gives back to his time by serving on various boards at his school alma maters expanding the reach of impact through intentional means. Dr. Williams loves to eat and cook good food, travel the world, listen to music, spend time with family and friends, draw and play video games. As a creative individual, Dr. Williams aspires to one day become the president of a university who can infuse entrepreneurship into the framework of education to establish sustainable change and positive impact. His strongest interests include creating spaces of belonging for historically underserved populations both within the field of education and the local community he lives in.
