Doctors of Excellence 2024 honoree Dr. Vincent Miles

Dr. Vincent Miles is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice with over 2 decades of experience in clinical, business, and professional settings. In 2023, Dr. Miles launched a consulting arm of his professional practice focusing on the needs of businesses and young leaders in Minnesota. Human Factor Leadership aims to help close an observed gap in workforce-ready leadership, assist businesses in strengthening strategy, and helping cross-sector collaborative efforts. Human Factor Leadership also has a stated goal to assist in improving diversity and opportunity within both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Bringing science, effective methods, and human behavior to the forefront of business design, Human Factor Leadership is a leader in understanding the human factor in all that you do, all that you can be, and the business that you lead.

Dr. Miles is described as a kind and compassionate psychologist that enjoys working with individuals to support incremental change, promoting growth, and strengthening coping skills and strategies that allow for optimal function. He is rooted in community and in his free time enjoys activities with his wife and young son. Always tinkering, exploring, and finding humor in life, Dr. Miles strives for a life of authenticity and connectedness.

Dr. Miles holds both his Master's and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, and has many academic honors. He is an adjunct professor, a national speaker on issues pertaining to mental health, and was recently selected for the Minnesota Young American Leaders Program (MYALP) - a Harvard-backed, intensive, leadership training that promotes cross-sector collaboration and critical problem-solving.

Dr. Miles also serves his community. Inspired by his son, he serves as a board member for an emerging children's museum, and works tirelessly as the chair of their exhibits committee - overseeing the design, development, and fabrication of the museum's exhibits, and is dedicated to implementing a unique visitor experience that keeps the community, families, and the employees central to the experience. Since 2020, the children's museum has raised over $17M in capital, has broken ground, and is slated to open Minnesota's 2nd largest children's museum in early 2025. This has been a passion project for Dr. Miles, and has allowed further refinement of his overall organizational and human-centered skillset.
