Women To Watch 2024 honoree Dr. Kim Moore



Dr. Kim Moore stands out as a transformative leader in education, known for her collaborative efforts to drive exceptional outcomes. With a strategic mindset, she excels in crafting and executing plans that significantly enhance student success, leveraging her vast experience in teaching, educational leadership, and operations. Her journey is marked by integrity, leading by example, and a passion for inspiring those around her.


Moore's educational foundation is robust, holding Doctorate and Educational Specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master's in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Bachelor's in Biology from Widener University. She's also accumulated a variety of certifications and training in leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, and post-crisis management from prestigious institutions across Florida.


In 2023, Dr. Moore became the inaugural African American woman Superintendent of Richland School District Two in Columbia, SC, overseeing the district's operations, focusing on educational excellence and community success. Before this role, she made significant strides in Pasco County Schools, FL, as the Assistant Superintendent for Career and Innovative Programs. There, she was instrumental in improving student performance, overseeing STEM/STEAM initiatives, and enhancing workforce development programs.


Dr. Moore's prior roles include Director of Administration for Hillsborough County Public Schools, Principal of Middleton High School, and various leadership positions that underscore her commitment to educational advancement and equity. Beyond her academic career, Dr. Moore is an esteemed military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army with distinction and bringing her leadership skills to the Pentagon and various commands.


Her achievements and contributions to education and leadership development have been widely recognized, earning her numerous awards and appointments. Dr. Moore continues to shape the future of education, making a lasting impact on students and educators alike.
