Meet Kemarie, the founder and director of Kammanuel Counselling Limited. Kemarie is an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with an AdvDip in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and an AdvDip in Professional and Psychotherapeutic Practice. She has four years of experience and more than 450 supervised practice hours. Kemarie is a highly skilled professional committed to her client's mental health and well-being. Her extensive experience in mental health care attests to this commitment. She is a diligent professional who adheres to the BACP/NCPS code of ethics. Besides running her practice, Kemarie works part-time as a psychotherapist counsellor at Talking Therapy in the North East London NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, she focuses on enhancing psychological therapy access. She is dedicated to empowering her clients to make decisions that align with their journey and direction, allowing them to reach their full potential.

Kemarie's Jamaican heritage instilled compassion and empathy for individuals from all walks of life. Kemarie believes that each client is unique, possessing their own cultural perspective and needs. She is passionate about helping people from diverse backgrounds navigate their daily struggles with care and support. Kemarie attributes her father's pastoral mentorship and headteacher role to teaching her the importance of providing unwavering support to family, clients, and the community. Her mother's kindness and eagerness to help those in need also significantly impacted her.

Kemarie is an inspiration as she wears multiple hats as a parent, therapist, and company director. As a mother of three children, Kemarie understands the importance of balancing various responsibilities. She knows caring for herself is vital to providing the best possible care for others. Therefore, she prioritises incorporating exercise and cycling into her daily routine, which helps her stay healthy and motivates her clients to adopt a healthy lifestyle. She also enjoys cooking Caribbean cuisine and exploring new places solo or with her family, which fuels her passion and rejuvenates her energy levels.

Kemarie's vision is to write a book and create a non-profit foundation in memory of her father, with the primary goal of providing affordable therapy to those who may not have access to it. Her focus is on helping clients manage trauma and anxiety, particularly those from African, African American, and Afro-Caribbean backgrounds who may feel hesitant to seek help due to the stigma surrounding mental health.

In addition, Kemarie is a dedicated advocate for her son's artistic pursuits, ensuring his needs are always met. She is also passionate about raising awareness of the unique challenges faced by Black parents with neurodivergent children by offering coping mechanisms and advocating for more support, especially in school settings.
