Ayana Carroll, the founder of ARC Consulting and recognized as an Architect of Professional Growth, is dedicated to empowering Black mid-level professionals to ascend into transformative leadership roles. With over 25 years of HR leadership and DEI expertise, Ayana specializes in dismantling barriers to leadership, such as limited access to high-visibility projects, mentorship gaps, and challenges in self-advocacy.
As the first Black professional to achieve the role of Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at her former company, Ayana spearheaded the creation and leadership of the company’s inaugural DEI department. Through this pioneering initiative, she established pathways to recruit and retain diverse talent, increased representation at leadership levels, and cultivated an inclusive organizational culture. As the executive sponsor of these efforts, Ayana's contributions created a lasting legacy of diversity-driven transformation.
Beyond driving organizational change, Ayana brings extensive experience coaching and advising both C-suite leaders and mid-level managers. Her ability to develop tailored learning strategies has accelerated leadership development and empowered emerging leaders to navigate their careers with confidence and clarity. She partners closely with executives to solve complex challenges while guiding individuals to embrace their full potential and purpose.
Guided by a core belief in living a life of purpose and service, Ayana's mission extends well beyond her professional endeavors. She volunteers with various homeless organizations, helping individuals on their journey toward stability and success, and consistently gives back to her community.
At ARC Consulting, Ayana combines strategic leadership coaching with actionable career roadmaps, equipping her clients to articulate their value, advocate for themselves, and secure opportunities aligned with their aspirations. Her approach centers on empowerment—building confidence, driving visibility, and ensuring Black professionals thrive in leadership roles. Ayana is passionate about reshaping narratives surrounding Black talent in corporate leadership, advocating for equity and access, and inspiring others to lead with impact.
When she is not coaching or volunteering, Ayana finds joy in spending time with her family.
Whether cheering on her son at football and baseball games, taste-testing her daughter’s latest baked creations, or supporting her oldest daughter’s community-focused podcast, Ayana is deeply invested in her family’s passions. She also enjoys traveling the world with her husband and relaxing with her two beloved fur babies.
